Quote: „The poetry and prose is drawn from his memories of the world during WW-II and following that once was, the world that now is, and in a hope for the world that will be. After having learned that in addition to his mobility impairment he was both a insulin dependent diabetic and suffered from a lung disease called COPD which required him to be on oxygen 24 hours a day he faced two choices, curl up and die alone in a lonely world, or get out and go for a ride on the wide-wide web and create a brand new window on the world and an exciting life for himself. The computer is his world, the dog his companion and his flowers his passion. He must write from his heart; for his head, lacking a writer’s education, is unlearned.“

This site has a content, a writing and poetry which was created over four decades. It is a site which will keep its value for generations, a site that you can visit again and again. The poetry is divided into the sections „The Cowboy Night Writer“, The Poetry Garden, The Good Old Days, Inspirational, where David states:„here I paint the inspirations of my life, my reasons for being, for loving and for sharing.“ Dave's Patriotic Pages are about his own and his brothers' military duty during WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

The authors poetry is characterized by his life and his experiences. Every single poem is impressive and moving, the illustrating paintings and the beautiful music move the visitor into a sentimental mood. Read the poems about his faith in God, the light, the creator of all, hear„Amazing Grace“ and „Ave Maria“, and see beautiful illustrating images. „There is no cure for birth and death save to enjoy the interval“ Dave states on his pages. His poetry and writing are valid for all humans, and will be valid in the future, not only for Americans, but all humans who grow up, learn, love, go through the spring, the summer, the autumn and the winter of their lives. We all are humans, and we all have made and will make similar experiences like Dave. His writing is about the small things and the big things of life, job, family, children, luck and happiness, and also sadness and misery, war, pain, illness, loneliness and death.

Sometimes Dave feels himself like a carousel horse. A lot of poems are written for his „special lady“. -Dave makes his last ride into the canyon, the black rider wants to take away even his memories now - memories of mother's flowers in his childhood, his precious memories of his first love, the first baby, his grandchildren.

Congratulations, Palletmaster's Workshop wins Timelines Future Award 2009.
